Who We Are?
Who We Are?
Healthy Quaboag is a dynamic initiative that collaborates with a wide range of community members and organizations in the Quaboag Valley. Our primary objective is to address health disparities and enhance the well-being of the region’s residents.
Through our collective efforts, we strive to improve the overall health of the community by implementing impactful prevention strategies and health initiatives. By working hand in hand with local partners, we are committed to making a positive and lasting impact on the health and wellness of the Quaboag Valley.
Priority Areas of Focus
Healthy Quaboag partners with a diverse group of community members and organizations and focuses on reducing health disparities* and improving overall health within Quaboag Valley.
We do this through:
Initiatives that aim to reduce poverty and increase community health by improving access to resources needed to improve educational and vocational outcomes and achieve living wage employment
Creating a roadmap that is part of a long-term effort to increase the health of a community and is developed collaboratively and addresses and improves important health issues
Helping rural communities with COVID-19 reduction and apply long-range plans to ensure resiliency from the influences of the pandemic that created poor outcomes
Addressing the immediate and urgent, while also continuing to focus on systems, policies, and project goals to make the food system more equitable and accessible, and to further prevent and reduce food insecurity
*health disparities – preventable differences in the seriousness of disease, injury, violence, or opportunities to achieve optimal health that are experienced by socially disadvantaged populations
